City Keys

The City Keys project offers us a pop and architectural inspiration translated into an object that is part of our everyday and common landscape; the concepts of miniaturization and skyline that have already animated Milan Chess Set’s imagery are continued and developed in this second project, which takes its cue from architectures known all over the world and loved for their iconographic qualities.
The idea behind the project is to encourage the development of the concepts of integration and cultural respect of the differences in the current geopolitical landscape; the homage to eight evocative monuments of different cultures spread across the globe resumes and amplifies the idea of the homage to Milan at the base of Milan Chess Set, launching an almost metaphysical bridge to connect territories and populations in the same design process.
Also in this case the design of eight monuments divided among arenas, towers, bridges, churches and theatres contributes to create an articulated autonomous world, highlighted this time by a powerful feature such as the use of colour and the consequent ever changing rainbow that the random combination creates in a poetic way.
As a second step of a journey divided into three stages, City Keys confirms the 3D printing technique with the use of painted nylon powder, to create a “trait d’union” between the different families of objects and to unify the design requirements in a unique and cohesive language of expression.
